HS 112 CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND MEDIATION 3 Units 3 hours lecture Transfers: CSU Recommended Preparation: ENG 300 Examines and introduces principles of non-violent, non-litigious conflict management skills with an emphasis on theory and the practice of conflict resolution, mediation, and third-party interventions. Designed to train individuals to be effective in resolving conflicts and engage mediation techniques in a broad context, from interpersonal relationships to working with individuals, groups, and staff in the workplace to dealing with interpersonal conflicts in alcohol and drug treatment settings, mental health settings, community-based correctional settings, educational and workplace settings and other human services milieus.
