MUS 147 MID-SIZE AFRICAN-AMERICAN BASED ENSEMBLE JAZZ
2 Units 1 hour lecture 3 hours lab
Transfers: CSU
Limitation: Audition with college faculty to demonstrate ability to read and play music at a high school level.
Recommended Preparation: MUS 27 and instrumental technical proficiency
Performance of music influenced by African-American improvised music in both a traditional and experimental scope (formerly MUS 242). Off campus performances required to meet course objectives. Students are limited to a combined total of four enrollments in MUS 147, 148, and 149.
