FN 169 LIFECYCLE NUTRITION 3 Units 3 hours lecture Transfers: CSU Prerequisite: FN 50 An in-depth analysis of the relationship of nutrition to growth and development from prenatal stages through senescence. Covers the function of nutrients in basic life processes and health issues related to insufficient or excessive amounts of nutrients. Dietary guidelines and methods of analysis of a healthy diet throughout the lifespan will be taught, with a focus on social, cultural, economic and environmental conditions that influence nutrition.
