SOC 1H HONORS INTRODUCTION TO SOCIOLOGY

Introduction to the scientific study of society and human behavior, including core concepts and theories. Topics explored through the sociological perspective include: social institutions, culture, human behavior and relationships, social forces, socialization, social structure, social class, social inequality, gender, and social change. The honors course is enriched by the level of resources used in research, more in-depth seminar style discussions, presentation of research, and by a smaller class size, allowing mentored individual research. Credit may be earned for SOC 1 or 1H, but not both. Letter grade only.
