ART 41 THREE-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN 3 Units 1.5 hours lecture 4.5 hours lab Transfers: CSU, UC Recommended Preparation: ART 40 This course examines the ideas, concepts and processes of 3-Dimensional artworks as they apply to historical and contemporary artists and collaboratives. An introduction to the applications of three-dimensional art & design, including the study of the basic principles and elements as they pertain to space, form and the built environment. This course focuses on the development of visual literacy for effective communication through lecture presentations/demonstrations, studio projects, problem solving, written assignments, critical discourse and research. Students design, create, and exhibit artworks that pertain to the historical movements covered. Field trips required to meet course objectives.
