An overview of Transitional Kindergarten (TK) assessment including the need to ensure that assessments are developmentally appropriate, aligned with their stated purposes, and administered over time and in a variety of settings. Includes suggestions for collecting and organizing assessment, provides information on Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtI2), and highlights the importance of effective ongoing assessment in monitoring student progress and providing appropriate tiered intervention based on studentsÆ needs. Also covers strategies for differentiating instruction to meet the assessed needs of children and suggestions for sharing information about student progress with families.
