FASH 221 CONTEMPORARY TAILORING

2 Units 1 hour lecture 3 hours lab
Recommended Preparation: FASH 100 or basic sewing skills
Study tailoring methods using soft, unstructured techniques. It includes elimination of bulk, knowledge of current development in shaping fabrics, new methods of finishing the inside of garments, use of commercial sewing machines, and selection of design and fabrics for contemporary tailoring. Emphasis will be on the professional application of new tailoring techniques and how these are used by the practicing dressmaker and tailor.
