Focuses on the integration and application of the nursing process in providing nursing care for female clients, neonates and families/significant others. With a family centered approach, emphasis of care is on the biopsychosocial needs in the following areas: uncomplicated and high-risk antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. Principles of nutrition, medication administration, communication, health education, health promotion, disease prevention, growth and development, evidence based practice, advocacy, legal and bioethical considerations, end of life care and concepts of diversity and culturally competent care for individuals from cultural groups within the United States are integrated. Letter grade only.
